Game is played entirely with the mouse.

GAME RULES CAN BE FOUND HERE. YES, IT DOESN'T HAVE RULES IN-GAME. IT'S BEEN A ROUGH FEW MONTHS, MAN.

This is a basic recreation of the card game Scoundrel, originally created by Zach Gage and Kurt Bieg. Scavenge the dungeon for weapons and potions as you attempt to survive to the bottom of the deck!

I learned about the game from a random Youtube video I saw at the start of the month and started working on it immediately. In terms of overall time it took about a week, but the actual programming work couldn't have been more than two or three full-time work days. I didn't know there was a scene for homebrew card games like this, turning a 52-deck into a dungeon crawler. It's something I'd like to look into more.

This demo was made completely from scratch. There's more I wanted to do with it, mainly a tutorial, but frankly I needed some kind of a win before the year is over. Wanna read about why? Wanna read about me, my life, and my 2026 plans? Check out my Substack here!

Enjoy this game a lot. Feels very souls-like, in a way. You can never really win, but you can try and do better each time. I headcanon the player as a Paladin in service to a Goddess, trying and failing to reach the end of a dungeon.
